Serenity Care Health Group is a rapidly growing FQHC-LAL located in the heart of Long Beach, specifically Cambodia Town. We offer comprehensive primary care and mental/behavioral health services to the under-insured and uninsured community members of Long Beach and surrounding areas. Under the supervision of the Clinic Operations team, the Clinic Medical Assistant is responsible for maintaining the front and back-office duties as outlined in our policies and assist with other duties as assigned by Supervisor. We are looking for a dedicated Clinic Medical Assistant looking to grow a career with a fast-growing FQHC-LAL.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Demonstrates the ability to provide a high level of customer service and to work with patients of all ages with diverse social, economic, and ethnic backgrounds while maintaining confidentiality at all times.
- Collects vital signs and patient history, collects specimens and performs basic laboratory tests, as directed by the provider in addition to other clinical tasks.
- Coordinates patient care as directed by the provider and following company standards and policies.
- Records patient care documentation in the medical record accurately and in a timely manner.
- Assists with setup and cleanup of office procedures; equipment sterilization; accurate documentation in electronic health record and medical supply inventory management.
- Adheres to all medical practice policies and procedures.
- Assists with checking in patients and running insurance eligibility.
- Performs administrative assessments for patient care as needed.
- Provides support in the organization's quality improvement efforts and performance improvement activities which includes data monitoring, and outreaching to patients.
- Tracks certain diagnostic tests and referrals relating to metrics/quality indicators, including contacting other clinics for records and locating past medical records to enter them correctly in this electronic health record.
- Provide interpretation and translation services in Khmer and English for patients and staff.
- Assist with patient outreach efforts, including reminder calls, follow-ups, and health education outreach.
- Support quality measure initiatives by tracking, documenting, and reporting clinical and operational data.
- Manage scheduling of patient appointments, referrals, and follow-up care to ensure timely access to services.
- Assist with the preparation of patient forms, charts, and electronic health record (EHR) data entry.
- Provide excellent front desk support as needed, including greeting patients, answering phones, and directing inquiries.
- Open to be cross-trained for overall assistance in back-office needs
- Supports our other clinical departments as needed.

- Responsible to maintain a safe and clean work environment, including unit based specific safety and infection control requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1 year (preferred) medical office experience
- Medical Assistant Certificate required
- A can-do attitude
- English language proficiency
- English and Khmer Bilingual; Required
- Physically equipped to perform regular duties as assigned

Pay: $21.00 - $22.00 per hour
