Job Overview
Serenity Appliance Repair is looking for an experienced Home Appliance Repair Technician to join as an independent contractor (1099). This is not a W2 position — you set your own schedule, use your own tools and vehicle, and get paid per completed job, not by the hour. We provide a steady stream of dispatched service calls in the Tampa Bay area; you handle the diagnosis and repair.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair residential appliances: refrigerators, washers, dryers, ovens, dishwashers, and similar equipment
- Use your own tools, testing equipment, and vehicle to travel between job sites
- Communicate professionally with customers and provide accurate diagnoses
- Complete jobs and documentation through our dispatch system (Workiz)
- Manage your own schedule within general weekly availability windows
Requirements
- Proven experience repairing major home appliances
- Own reliable vehicle and complete set of hand/diagnostic tools
- Valid driver's license and insurance
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Available to accept and complete dispatched jobs Monday–Saturday (schedule set by you)
- EPA Section 608 Certification required (for refrigerant handling)
- Experience replacing compressors on R134 and R600 refrigerant systems
Compensation
- Paid per completed job / commission-based — not hourly
- Independent contractor (1099); you are responsible for your own taxes and insurance
