Job DescriptionWe are looking for a reliable and compassionate Cook to join our team at [Name of Your Nursing Home]. You will prepare nutritious, delicious, and well-presented meals for our elderly residents in a caring, clean, and safe environment.
This is more than just a cooking job — you’ll play an important role in supporting the health and quality of life of our residents.
Key Responsibilities:Prepare breakfast, lunch, and dinner for 50–150 residents
Follow standardized recipes and therapeutic diets (diabetic, low-sodium, pureed, mechanical soft, etc.)
Work closely with the Dietary Manager and kitchen staff
Maintain strict adherence to food safety, sanitation, and infection control standards (HACCP, PA Department of Health)
Prepare special event and holiday meals
Portion control and proper food handling
Clean kitchen equipment and maintain cleanliness of the kitchen
Previous cooking experience required (restaurant, institutional, or long-term care preferred)
Knowledge of therapeutic diets and special dietary needs is a big plus
ServSafe or food safety certification preferred (or willing to obtain)
Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs
Must be dependable, have a positive attitude, and enjoy working with seniors
Must pass PA criminal background check and TB test
