Certified Dietary Manager
Job Summary:
ISH Dining Services is seeking a dedicated and experienced Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) to lead our dietary services team in Oakland, Maryland. As a confident leader with strong organizational skills, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of dietary operations, ensuring high standards of quality, safety, and satisfaction in a healthcare setting.
Responsibilities:
Oversee daily dietary department operations and food service production
Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local health regulations
Maintain high standards of sanitation, safety, and infection control
Manage food and supply ordering, inventory, and cost control measures
Monitor meal quality, portion control, and resident dietary compliance
Supervise, train, and support dietary staff to ensure consistent performance
Develop and maintain schedules to meet department and resident needs
Conduct ongoing quality assurance and improve departmental processes
Collaborate with leadership to support resident care and satisfaction
Ensure readiness for surveys, audits, and inspections
Leadership & Expectations:
Lead by example with professionalism, accountability, and teamwork
Make independent decisions to support daily operational needs
Maintain a positive and respectful work environment
Address staffing and operational challenges proactively
Communicate effectively with staff, residents, and administration
Qualifications:
Active Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) credential required
Prior experience in healthcare food service or long-term care preferred
Strong leadership and team management skills
Knowledge of dietary regulations, sanitation standards, and food safety practices
Experience with budgeting, inventory control, and cost management preferred
Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving abilities
Ability to work in a fast-paced, resident-focused environment
Schedule:
Full-time position
May include rotating weekends and holidays based on facility needs
