Retail Associate-Job Description
Position: Part-Time Retail Associate (Seasonal Summer: May- September)
Job Summary:
Serendipity is a family-owned brick and mortar store with online presences that provides those in and around the area a great shopping destination. We specialize in retail clothing(womens, mens, and kids), gifts, decor, and a one of a kind shopping experience! We are proud to say that we have become a staple for locals and travelers as the “go to place” for clothing and gifts alike. Responsibilities and Duties:
- Utmost priority is providing each customer with a tailored shopping experience(welcoming, friendly, interactive)
- Welcome each customer with a friendly and helpful attitude
- Assist customers with the perfect gift or clothing for their needs
- Work to convert browsing customers into sales
- Work with supervisors and managers in organization/display of merchandise
- Completion of required daily tasks such as daily cleaning, tagging/labeling of merchandise, folding apparel, etc.
- Management of register/checkout areas and system and provide a happy checkout experience for our customers
- Follow Company Policies
- Lifting of boxes, steaming of merchandise, continual standing or moving around
- Proper communication and a 'can do attitude'
Requirements:
- Minimum of 1 years experience in the retail industry as a retail floor associate or customer service associate familiar with customer interacting, POS system utilization, and general retail skills
- Prefered high school diploma or GED certificate
Skills:
- Provide customers with a great shopping experience(which starts with you)
- Ability to stand, sit, kneel, crouch, and reach for extend periods of time
- Excellent communication skills with customers, team members, and management
- Knowledge on simple math and logical reasoning
- Attention to detail
- Occasional climbing of a small ladder
- Able to work weekdays/weekends/holidays
- Able to frequently lift 25 lbs. And on occasional instances lift 45lbs.
- Work with your hands and senses to help organize store merchandise as directed
- Follow company policies
- Computer skills (POS program, word, excel, email, etc.)
Job Types: Part-time, Seasonal
Pay: $15.95 - $16.45 per hour
