Systems Administrator - Part Time/On-Call

Serco supports the US Navy as a prime for their NESS IV & PS2-EA contract maintaining their defense work on Shore-Based bases. Our team upgrades, maintains and manages the hardware and software that runs security systems for Gates, Access Control (ACS), Intrusion Detection (IDS), and Video Surveillance (VSS) systems to ensure the safety of the sailors and to allow them to perform their missions successfully.

You will be part of a large team of System Administrators (SA’s) and Subject Matter Experts (SME’s) that works closely with the customer and other Serco teams to deliver quality systems. In this role, you will: 

• Perform installation support to include installation, configuration, testing, and maintenance of applicable hardware and software.
• Provide Support for Field Service Engineers with Lenel, Milestone, ACS, IDS and VSS.
• Provide Support for Lab Environment with PUCS, TUCS, DUCS, GBRS, PSIMS. 
• Provide Support for Juniper Network Systems
• Work with the local N6 for approval to create accounts in Windows and other applications in the CNRNW environment as requested by local N6.
• Perform design and configuration support to include development, design, configuration, testing and maintenance of applicable platforms, components, other technology as needed.
• Perform Business Application Integration support of various business application development efforts and roll outs through implementation, configuration, testing, maintenance, and upgrades of various application testing and or production environments.
• Perform system security support to include ensuring artifacts such as ACAS, SCAP scans and STIG checklist files are uploaded to repositories such as eMASS and VRAM; ensuring STIGS align with the ATO authorization requirements; support RMF package development
• Ensure impacted system(s) are backed up as needed
• Support environment monitoring to include installation, configuration, maintenance, upgrades and administration of environment monitoring system(s)
• Provide documentation support by developing and maintaining related diagrams, lists, SOPs as relevant to system documentation.
• Support Failover and Disaster Recovery Testing by performing regular environment checks and developing and maintaining related SOPs.
• Perform regular patching or upgrade of all operating systems and or firmware.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Bachelor's Degree and technical training related to Information Technology, Cyber Security, Computer Science, or another related technical field
• At minimum at least two of the following certifications or higher
• Security
• A
• Network CE
• CND
• SSCP
• An active DoD Secret security clearance
• Windows Server or VMWare certification
• At least 5 years of working knowledge and experience in IT particularly in installing, maintaining and troubleshooting virtualized environments with VMWare ESXi hypervisors, server blades, Windows Domain Controllers, Windows Active Directory, Windows Server 2016
• At least 2 years of working knowledge and experience with hardening systems, ACAS, SCAP, HBSS, RMF process.
• Ability to travel up to 25% of the time as needed.

In compliance with state and local laws regarding pay transparency, the salary range for this role is $87,140 to $145,234; however, Serco considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, education/training, and key skills.
