This position is responsible for scheduling drivers, coordinating routes, managing communication between staff and clients, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. The ideal candidate will be a strong communicator and problem-solver with experience in transportation or logistics.
General Accountabilities
- Coordinate daily driver schedules and bus routes to ensure efficient operations
- Serve as the primary point of contact for drivers, school officials, clients, and management
- Monitor trip progress and adjust schedules as needed to accommodate delays or changes
- Assist with dispatching and route planning using scheduling software or manual systems
- Ensure compliance with DOT, state, and local transportation regulations
- Maintain accurate records of trips, incidents, and vehicle usage
- Assist with driver recruitment, onboarding, and ongoing training initiatives
- Communicate effectively with clients regarding scheduling, special requests, and service updates
- Support emergency response and incident management as needed
- High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in transportation, logistics, or related field preferred)
- Previous experience in transportation coordination, logistics, or dispatch strongly preferred
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Proficiency in basic computer applications and scheduling software
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make quick decisions
- Knowledge of DOT and state transportation regulations
- Valid driver’s license; CDL with Passenger endorsement a plus
