Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse or licensed practical nurse
- Assist patients with activities of daily living, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Take and record vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, and pulse
- Assist with patient mobility and transfers
- Collect specimens for testing and perform basic laboratory procedures
- Monitor patients for changes in condition and report any concerns to the nursing staff
- Assist with patient admissions, discharges, and transfers
- Maintain a clean and safe patient environment
Skills:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures
- Familiarity with electronic health record systems (eClinicalWorks, Cerner)
- Experience working with diverse patient populations, including behavioral health, children, special needs, etc.
- Understanding of sterile processing techniques and infection control protocols
- Proficiency in performing basic medical procedures such as gastric lavage and airway management
