We're hiring a Director of Engineering to join our U.S. leadership team. This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll manage teams across the U.S. and India, shape the future of our platform, and help scale engineering systems and culture through our next phase of growth.

In this role, you’ll get to:

Technology Strategy & Execution

• Define and execute a 12–24 month technical roadmap aligned with company goals
• Set and uphold engineering best practices across architecture, performance, security, and quality
• Select and implement technologies and tools that increase developer velocity and product stability
• Balance near-term product delivery with long-term system scalability

Team Building & Engineering Leadership

• Lead a distributed engineering team, with a focus on U.S. and India-based engineers
• Attract, hire, and mentor high-performing engineers, tech leads, and managers
• Build a collaborative, inclusive engineering culture that supports personal growth and team excellence
• Establish engineering career frameworks, onboarding processes, and operational rhythms

Platform & Infrastructure Evolution

• Guide technical decisions across our core stack, which includes Node.js, React, Postgres, Redis, AWS, and Docker
• Drive modularization and infrastructure modernization as the company scales
• Oversee data and API infrastructure, ensuring they support product and operational growth
• Lead transitions like monolith to microservices and event-driven architectures where appropriate

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Partner with Product, Design, and Ops to plan roadmaps and prioritize effectively
• Act as a technical thought leader in business and product strategy discussions
• Help bridge global collaboration between U.S. and India engineering teams

Who you are:

• 10 years of engineering experience, including 4 years in technical leadership roles
• Proven success managing engineering teams (including international teams), and scaling from early-stage to growth
• Experience with complex SaaS platforms and modern full-stack development
• Skilled in designing and evolving scalable, reliable, and secure software systems
• Strong communicator with the ability to explain technical topics to non-technical stakeholders
• Comfortable navigating ambiguity and solving both people and technical challenges

Nice to have:

• Experience in fast-paced startup environments (0→1 or 1→10 growth)
• Exposure to HR tech, fintech, or other regulated platforms
• Familiarity with PHP Laravel and React Native
