As part of our practice growing efforts, Sequence has been exclusively retained by one of Massachusetts leading landscape design-build firm with operations in Cape Cod to recruit an experienced Heavy Equipment Operator to support their growing installation/construction team.

We are seeking an equipment operator for the operation who takes pride in their work and enjoys contributing to projects where quality, detail, and professionalism matter.
The Opportunity
The Equipment Operator will play a key role in supporting landscape construction projects ranging from site preparation and grading to hardscape installation and irrigation support.
You will work closely with experienced project managers and installation crews to help execute high-end residential landscape designs, ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate landscape and construction equipment including skid steers, mini excavators, loaders, trenchers, and compactors
- Perform grading, excavation, trenching, and backfilling for landscape and hardscape installations
- Assist with placement and movement of materials including soil, gravel, stone, and planting materials
- Support installation of patios, retaining walls, drainage systems, irrigation systems, and plantings
- Conduct daily equipment inspections and basic maintenance
- Maintain a clean, safe, and professional job site, always mindful of the client’s property
- Collaborate with project managers and installation crews to ensure projects meet design specifications and quality standards
Qualifications
- 2 years of equipment operation experience in landscaping, site work, or construction
- Experience operating skid steers, mini excavators, loaders, or similar equipment
- Strong focus on safety and jobsite awareness
- Ability to follow site plans, grades, and instructions from supervisors
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Valid driver’s license (CDL is a plus)
- Positive attitude, reliability, and strong team orientation
