We are seeking to hire candidates for our HVAC Automotive Equip Specialist (0620).
*Starting Pay Rate: $38.68/hour - After 12 Months: $42.98, based on applicable contract.
OVERALL DESCRIPTION
Maintains, troubleshoots and repairs HVAC Systems on SEPTA's bus and rail vehicles.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
Troubleshoots, repair, and maintains vehicle climate control systems, repairs or replaces components as require.
Performs overhauls on HVAC system including removal and replacement of system components.
Performs A/C System refrigerant conversions on vehicle HVAC systems.
Diagnoses and repairs/replaces electrical, electronic systems and microprocessor based on control systems and components within the HVAC system. Diagnose and repairs/replaces drive system for A/C compressors including DC Motors, pony engines, power take-offs, drive shafts, etc.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
High School diploma or equivalent and two (2) years training at an accredited Technical School or equivalent. In lieu of technical school training, five (5) years practical experience in a related field may be substituted.
Must be First Class Qualified Vehicle & Equipment Mechanic.
Must satisfactorily complete written qualifications tests specific to this job description and performance tests as required.
Must be certified to use and handle refrigerant.
Must possess valid driver's license
IDEAL QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Experience working on mass transit vehicles preferred.
