Quality Technician I, Chromatography

Job Title: Quality Control Technician I

This individual must be a self-motivated, detail oriented and energetic technician with a scientific background that will work closely with the production, application, and office teams. This non-exempt full-time position in the Quality department is based at our headquarters office located in Newark, Delaware.

Requirements:

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a similar science discipline.
• Familiar with HPLC instrumentation and different LC separation techniques.
• Experience in laboratory work or previous experience in quality control.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
• Proficient computer skills to utilize Microsoft software and an ERP system for day-to-day functions.
• Ability to communicate experiment results through proper and detailed record keeping.
• Good interpersonal, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Attention to detail and confidentiality.

Responsibilities:

• Perform quality control testing of HPLC columns by accurately following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Interpret chromatograms and analytical reports to evaluate products using defined specifications and assign pass/fail grades.
• Analyze and troubleshoot non-conforming results with guidance from the QC Supervisor.
• Complete column testing and documentation on schedule to support on-time shipping goals.
• Generate accurate QC test results in compliance with SOPs.
• Ensure all test methods used are properly validated or verified, as applicable.
• Utilize and maintain the ERP system for inventory management and workflow optimization.
• Maintain proper, organized, and detailed laboratory records and logs.
• Support the shipping department by performing order fulfillment tasks such as labeling, boxing, preparing Certificates of Analysis (CoAs), and meeting customer-specific requirements.
• Prepare samples, solutions, and/or resins as required for testing.
• Perform routine housekeeping and ensure cleanliness and organization of laboratory work areas.
• Observe all safety procedures and follow safety protocols as outlined in training and safety manuals.
