Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Quality Control Engineer to join our dynamic team. The incumbent is responsible for maintaining quality standards by analyzing incoming materials, in-process production, and finished parts in a laboratory setting then recording quality results to ensure compliance requirements. This role also involves monitoring production quality, conducting audits, analyzing data, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement continuous improvement initiatives. The Quality Control Engineer works to maintain the highest level of product integrity and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities:
· Monitor production processes to ensure internal and external quality standards are met
· Identify defects or deviations from specifications by continually inspecting products and materials
· Establish and maintain quality control systems and procedures
· Develop and revise operator work instructions
· Collect and analyze data from production processes and performance metrics to identify trends, issues, root causes of defects and areas for improvement and opportunities for process optimization
· Analyze and respond to customer claims via 8D's and 5Why's
· Generate reports on quality performance, defect rates, and corrective actions
· Present findings and recommendations to management for quality improvements
· Collaborate with manufacturing, engineering, and R&D teams to identify opportunities for process and product improvement
· Lead or participate in continuous improvement projects (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing)
· Implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to resolve quality issues
· Prepare PPAP packages for submission for plastic components
· Participate in monthly APQP meetings for new launches
· Revise APQP documents on a yearly basis and based on customer claims and Engineering Change Notices (ECN's)
· Develop and revise Gage instructions
· Review capability and gage R&R studies
· Oversee trial runs for new launches
· Assist the QC supervisors and QC inspectors on resolution of internal defects
· Conduct Layer Process and Safety audits on a weekly basis
· Conduct 5S audits on a monthly basis
· Train laboratory staff on quality standards, inspection methods, and proper documentation
· Provide technical support and guidance to teams on quality control procedures
· Promote a culture of quality awareness throughout the organization
· Monitor and evaluate supplier performance to ensure materials meet required specifications
· Work with suppliers to resolve quality issues and improve the quality of incoming materials
· Manage quality measurement facilities and tools
· Participate in activities to achieve quality, productivity, scrap, and cost reduction goals
· Track production performance metrics and report key performance indicators (KPIs) to management
Qualifications:
· Bachelor's degree in engineering (or equivalent experience)
· Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities
· Attention to detail and a focus on quality management
· Effective communication and interpersonal skills
· Strong knowledge of quality control and laboratory manufacturing processes
· Excellent leadership skills to effectively manage and motivate a diverse production team
· Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel)
· 3D Scan experience
Preferred Qualifications:
· 1 – 2 years' experience on quality management or related field
· Knowledge of ISO 9001/14001, IATF16949, MSA (Gauge R &R), PPAP, SPC, GD & T, Process capability requirements
· Certifications for quality management (ISO, IATF, ASQ) are preferable
· Understanding of quality management systems in the Automotive Industry
· Experience with Lean manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies

Salary range for this position is between $60,000 and $70,000 depending on experience
