About the Role
The Dealer Relations Manager owns the health and performance of the MJM Yachts dealer network, serving as the primary link between the company and its independent dealer partners. This role blends account management, channel strategy, and hands-on marketing execution — working closely with dealers to develop and track marketing plans that drive awareness and sales for the MJM Yacht line. This is an on-site role, given close day-to-day interaction with production and manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day relationships with an assigned portfolio of MJM dealers, serving as their primary point of contact for sales support, program questions, and escalations
- Partner with each dealer to build and track localized marketing plans that drive awareness, leads, and sales for the MJM line
- Maintain accurate dealer records, marketing plan status, and performance reporting in CRM
- Drive dealer performance against sales targets and inventory/stocking goals
- Onboard new dealers, including training on product line, pricing structure, and brand standards
- Conduct regular dealer visits (in-person and virtual) to assess performance, support event planning, and identify growth opportunities
- Coordinate closely with production and manufacturing on build schedules, delivery timing, and inventory availability to keep dealers informed and aligned
- Analyze dealer sales data and market trends to identify underperforming accounts and recommend corrective action plans
- Negotiate and manage dealer agreements, terms, and renewal cycles
- Collaborate cross-functionally with sales, marketing, production, and customer service teams to resolve dealer escalations and product/warranty disputes
- Drive dealer participation in flagship programs, including the MJM Experience, She's the Captain, demo events, boat shows, and exclusive sea trial events
- Represent MJM Yachts at boat shows, dealer meetings, sea trial events, and regional industry events
- 5-7 years of experience in dealer relations, channel management, distributor/rep management, or B2B field sales — marine or luxury goods industry experience a plus
- Proven track record managing a dealer network and driving measurable revenue growth
- Experience planning and executing in-market events (demos, trade shows, or similar) a plus
- Strong negotiation and relationship-management skills with the ability to influence without direct authority
- Comfortable analyzing sales data and translating it into dealer-level action plans
- Willingness to travel regularly (typically 25-40%) for dealer visits, boat shows, and events
- Proficiency with CRM systems (Salesforce, HubSpot, or similar)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered
