Armed Security Officer (7202)

Job Summary
Sentry Force Security is seeking experienced Armed Security Officers to support a dedicated client account with multiple work sites located throughout the City of Norfolk and surrounding areas. Selected candidates will be responsible for a variety of duties, including but not limited to access control, property patrols, crime prevention, surveillance and monitoring, parking enforcement, investigation of suspicious activity, emergency response and escalation, customer service, alarm response, identification and removal of unauthorized individuals, and maintaining accurate visitor logs. Officers are expected to maintain a strong security presence, exercise sound judgment, and uphold the highest standards of professionalism while ensuring the safety and security of personnel and property. Shifts range from 8 to 12 hours per day. We are currently accepting applications for coverage across all days and hours of operation. Specific schedules and site assignments will be discussed during the interview process.

• Hourly rate: $19.00 and up

Duties

• Report to your assigned worksite on time.
• Adhere to company policies and procedures.
• Respond to complaints and disturbances.
• Conduct regular patrols and ensure all scan points are checked during rounds.
• Report and document all incidents that occur on the premises.
• Maintain situational awareness and readiness to respond to potential security threats.
• Access control.
• Parking enforcement.
• Crime prevention.
• Surveillance.
• Alarm response

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Relevant certifications in security or law enforcement preferred.
• Must have a Virginia DCJS Armed License.
• Pre-employment drug screening required.
• 2 years of security, military or law enforcement experience preferred.
• Professional appearance and communication required.
• Ability to generate comprehensive field reports for client and internal review.
• Familiarity with CCTV systems and surveillance techniques is a plus.
• Strong technological literacy.
• Strong conflict management skills with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
• Certification in CPR and First Aid is preferred but not mandatory; training may be provided.
• Excellent observational skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a dynamic environment.
