Position Summary:
The Lead Inspector is responsible for overseeing and finalizing all inspection activities within the warehouse to ensure compliance with company, customer, and regulatory requirements. This role ensures that all incoming, in-process, and outgoing materials meet the highest standards of quality, traceability, and airworthiness. The Lead Inspector will serve as the primary point of contact for inspection personnel, providing leadership, guidance and approvals to maintain operational excellence and support the company’s reputation as a trusted leader as an Aviation Aftermarket Supplier.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and liaise with warehouse inspection team on all incoming aviation parts and materials.
- Verify that all products meet applicable specifications, certifications, and regulatory requirements (FAA, EASA, AS9120, ISO, etc.).
- Review and approve inspection records, certifications, traceability and documentation for accuracy and completeness.
- Track and log incoming and outgoing parts and verify required documentation
- Maintain and enforce strict adherence to company quality policies, procedures, and industry standards.
- Provide training and mentorship to warehouse staff on quality procedures, inspection techniques, and documentation practices.
- Identify nonconformances, initiate corrective actions, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate closely with Purchasing, Shipping/Receiving, and warehouse staff, as well as vendors, repair shops, and customers to resolve inspection, quality, and/or documentation issues.
- Ensure proper handling, storage, and traceability of all inspected parts in accordance with company and regulatory guidelines.
- Support internal and external audits by maintaining organized and accurate inspection records.
- Promote a culture of quality, safety, and accountability throughout the warehouse.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or aviation-related education preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in inspection or quality control (within the aviation or aerospace industry a plus).
- Knowledge of FAA, EASA, and AS9120/ISO quality standards, is a plus
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to train and mentor team members effectively.
- Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and documentation integrity.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced warehouse environment with minimal supervision.
