With corporate headquarters in Wilmington, Delaware, the company is currently seeking a Maintenance Technician for a portfolio of industrial and self storage properties in DE, MD, NJ and PA.
POSITION SUMMARY
This position is responsible for day-to-day maintenance duties at assigned real estate properties within a commercial real estate portfolio. This person works in conjunction with Maintenance and Property Managers to promptly respond to tenant service requests, emergency repair needs, and overall preventive maintenance of the real estate properties. This position is a traveling position which requires much self-direction and initiative. The position will handle new construction in light industrial, tenant fit-outs, preventative maintenance as well as repairs associated with office, industrial/flex, and self-storage buildings.
Wages based upon experience.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- General Maintenance including:
- Electrical
- Painting
- Plumbing
- Carpentry
- HVAC – preventative maintenance
- Doors – replace latches, preventative maintenance
- Gates - repair
- Roof – general cleaning and basic structural assessment
- Storage Units – caulking, sealants, drywall, minor framing, hanging doors * Facility management and understanding of all mechanical systems
- Performs general cleaning of inside and outside of property
- Other duties as assigned
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- The individual must have a minimum of 3 years of direct experience in general building maintenance, equipment maintenance, or construction methods.
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver’s license and DMV record free of major infractions.
- Demonstrates strong work ethic. Uses time productively to accomplish challenging work goals.
- Presents a professional, positive image that reflects well on the organization.
- Knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions of the mechanical and building trades (OSHA). Ability to understand, follow and follow up on oral and written instructions.
- Knowledge of standard tools and practices of the various trades of general maintenance such as mechanical, electrical, plumbing, painting, carpentry and plastering.
- Must be flexible; position requires the ability to work with multiple facilities/store managers.
- Knowledge of gate and access control systems is a plus.
