What are the responsibilities and job description for the Biologist for construction monitoring and nesting bird surveys position at Sentinel Science Inc.?
Looking for biologists to construction monitoring, monitoring near water ways and performing nesting bird surveys on vegetation removal projects. These projects are throughout the state of California. Workers will be assigned work as close to their home as possible. Applicants will need to be able to identify a variety of bird species by sight and or sound. Applicants need to have either a bachelor’s degree or higher in Biology, ecology, zoology etc. or significant professional field biology experience. Those with a degree still need some professional or academic experience related to bird identification.
Other beneficial experience is conducting biological surveys, experience with special status species, wetland delieniation, amphibian experience, rare plants surveys, and Desert Tortoise surveys. Also, looking for applicants that have CDFW or USFWS permits for regulated species. This is seasonal work running from January thru September. There is work in the off season for those having enough experience for other projects. Workers will be assigned based on their availability and project needs. This is an on call as need position. We pay hourly wage with overtime as well as mileage and per diem for those required to stay in a hotel.
