Role Overview
We are seeking a full-time Cable Technician for a field-based role working off-site at customer locations throughout the region, with operations coordinated out of our Wakefield, MA office. In this position, you will install, maintain, and troubleshoot structured cabling systems while ensuring high-quality workmanship and adherence to safety standards. You will work closely with our team to support successful project execution and deliver an excellent customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair structured cabling systems at off-site customer locations
- Perform routine troubleshooting and cable testing to ensure full functionality
- Use hand tools and specialized equipment for cable installation and maintenance
- Read and interpret technical blueprints, drawings, and project documentation
- Ensure all work complies with safety regulations and quality standards
- Communicate clearly with team members and customers to support efficient project delivery
Qualifications
- Hands-on experience with cable installation, maintenance, and repairs
- Familiarity with structured cabling systems and cable organization best practices
- Working knowledge of electrical concepts and related safety protocols
- Proficiency with hand tools and industry-specific equipment
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow technical diagrams
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to travel to off-site job locations and work in various environments
- Relevant certifications, technical training, or prior telecommunications/structured cabling experience preferred
