SUMMARY
Execute the daily tasks, functions and responsibilities of the Shipping, Receiving and Material Handling activities within the Materials Department. This will be completed by satisfying internal and external customer demands and expectations in accordance to departmental goals and objectives.
CRITICAL VITAL ACTIVITIES
Accurately process production and non-production shipments and receipts per internal schedules. Compares identifying information on incoming or outgoing shipments with purchase orders, invoices or other documents.
Prepare advanced shipment notification (ASN) and retrieve acknowledgements as required to meet customer-specific processes.
May trace shipments or customer claims of lost shipments. Initiates proof of delivery documents.
Schedule pickups for product based on shipment documentation for production and non-production material.
Audit product to insure packaging integrity and compliance to internal and customer specifications. Records discrepancies or damages and notify appropriate personnel.
Sort, count, package, label, insure, unpack and/or log inventory which is shipped or received.
Complete all inventory transactions necessary to support movement and consumption of materials and lot tracking for the Shipping and Receiving functions. Complete appropriate transactions to maintain inventory integrity.
Conveys materials from storage or work sites to designated area. Provide material handling activity in the raw material warehouse as necessary to support manufacturing requirements. Rotate stock on a first in first out basis to the production and warehouse areas.
Communicate any/all unplanned shortage issues to material control to ensure sound decisions are made.
Receives incoming materials and compares information on packing slips with purchase order to verify accuracy of shipment. May process return shipments from customers.
Maintain inventory locations of Raw Material, W.I.P. and Finished Goods to ensure accurate buying information and Manufacturing has appropriate material to build product.
Ensure proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies, promote continuous improvement of workplace and safety and environmental practices.
May operate dolly, pallet jack, and/or forklift or any other type of material handling equipment in loading and unloading supplies and equipment and may operate shrink-wrap machine.
Maintain housekeeping procedures to support world-class standards (5S).
May maintain department database, prepare routine reports and file shipping/receiving records.
Follow all established departmental policies, procedures and objectives, continuous improvement objectives and safety and environmental standards.
Broad objectives are outlined. Work is judged primarily on overall results with much choice of method. Frequently required to develop methods to achieve desired results.
Put away purchased components dropped off at the Assembly lines, cut open boxes and place in defined locations.
Put away painted components dropped off at the Assembly lines and place in defined locations.
Replenish molded stock and backing plate stock at the Assembly lines pull from clearly defined loations in Molding.
Take completed Hot Sheet to the PPW, time stamp and leave in designated spot.
Properly stack empty dunnage on a skid, Line Leader to tape.
