Registered Nurse (RN) Unit Coordinator– Emergency Department | Level I Trauma Center

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital is hiring a full-time Registered Nurse Unit Coordinator for our Emergency Department, home to Hampton Roads’ only Level I Trauma Center. Location: Sentara Norfolk General Hospital – Norfolk, VA

Position Status: Full-time, 36 hours per week

Shift: Evening

Available Hours:

11:00 a.m. – 11:00 p.m.

1:00 p.m. – 1:00 a.m.

Weekends: Every other weekend availability required

Holiday Rotation: Required

As part of a Level I Trauma Center, you will work alongside experienced emergency medicine providers, specialists, and interdisciplinary teams to deliver timely, high-quality care when patients need it most. Nurses in this department gain exposure to complex emergency, trauma, cardiac, stroke, critical care, and specialty cases while building advanced clinical skills in a collaborative environment.

Education Requirements

• BSN Required

Certification/Licensure Requirements

• Registered Nurse license required

• Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 90 days of hire

• NIHSS, TCRN, SCRN, TNCC, CEN, PALS, and ACLS preferred

Experience Requirements

• 18 months RN experience Required

• Emergency Department experience preferred

• Supervisory experience preferred

• Strong candidates with related acute care, critical care, intermediate care, trauma, cardiac, stroke, or med/surg experience are encouraged to apply
