Sentara offers a newly graduated Registered Nurse with less than 12 months of experience, a Nurse Residency Program that can give you the skills and support you need to make a successful transition into your professional practice.
What the program offers:
- No separate application and no application deadlines.
- Automatic enrollment for all newly hired graduate nurses.
- Available at all 12 Sentara hospitals.
- After orientation, begin your Residency right away.
- 6-months of hands-on experience alongside trained preceptors in 6 areas: Medical-Surgical, Intermediate Care, Critical Care, Emergency, Operating Room, and Women's Health
- Topics such as career pathing, professional development, leadership, self-care, and stress management.

Fast-track application requirements
Education: Graduate of an accredited RN program
Licensure: Current Virginia RN license or eligibility to obtain one

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, and benefits. The base pay range for full-time employment is $36.00 - $36.00 hourly. Additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, on-call pay, overtime, shift premiums, extra-shift incentives, or bonus opportunities. Compensation within the range may vary based on qualifications, experience, location, market conditions, and business needs. Sentara Albemarle Medical Center, located in Elizabeth City, NC, serves northeastern North Carolina with a caring team of approximately 750 employees and 450 medical providers.
