Sentara RMH Medical Center is now hiring a Patient Care Tech Joints/Observation unit. This position is ideal for candidates who have experience or interest in postoperative joint surgery care and observation patients.f

Multiple Shifts: Day & Night

Weekly Scheduled Hours: 36 hours

Weekend Schedule - Rotate every other weekend

As a Patient Care Technician with Sentara Health, you will have the opportunity to learn many new skills. From taking vitals to blood draws and daily care. The primary duties of this position include supporting the admission/discharge process, changing, bathing ambulating patients, drawing blood, foley catheter care, meeting patient needs while working under the direct supervision of a nurse. You will find that teamwork is exceptional, with everyone working together to provide the best care for our patients.

Education

High School diploma or equivalent  - Required  AND                                      

Must have one or more of the following: Required

• Graduate of Sentara Care Partner Certification Program
• Successful completion of the Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
• National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA)
• National Patient Care Technician (NCPCT)
• Completion of US Navy Hospital Corps School
• Emergency Services to include EMR, EMS, EMT, AEMT and Paramedic
• Current student enrolled in a clinical program having completed at least one semester of a (RN, LPN, RT or PT) or current work experience within last three years as a PCT or Nursing Assistant.

Experience

Previous direct care experience preferred

Unit Department:

• 36 Bed Medical Surgical Unit
• Surgical Patients Include General Surgery, Gastrointestinal, OB-Gyn, Orthopedics, Vascular, Urology, Nephrology, and more
• Generalized Medical Conditions such as COPD, CHF, Flu, etc.
• Four week orientation for PCT.
• Immerse amount of opportunities for skill utilization
• Collaborative atmosphere with a wide range of RN experience
• Opportunities for Nursing Certifications

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, and benefits. The base pay range for full-time employment is $18.93 - $27.41 hourly. Additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, on-call pay, overtime, shift premiums, extra-shift incentives, or bonus opportunities. Compensation within the range may vary based on qualifications, experience, location, market conditions, and business needs.
