Position Overview :
The Oncology Data Specialist will m aintain an efficient cancer database of all the patients diagnosed and / or treated with cancer in accordance with the American College of Surgeons requirements for Sentara Cancer Network. Consistently meets productivity goals in regard to abstracting. Responsible for assisting with maintaining annual follow-up of patients accessed to the database as well as case finding.
Required :
Must be certified by the National Cancer Registrars Association or obtain certification within 3 years from date of hire.
Preferred :
2yrs in Medical Records Data
2yrs in Tumor Registry
National Cancer Registrars Association certification preferred.
Education Required : High School Diploma

Job Summary
