Overview

Administer occupational therapy treatments and procedures under the supervision of an Occupational therapist.

Education

• Trade School
• Associates Degree (Required)

Certification/Licensure

• Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant License (Required)

Experience

• May assist in the development of treatment plans, carrying out routine functions, and documenting the progress of treatment within the scope of treatment plans established by an occupational therapist.
• Provides age-appropriate education for clients and caregivers.
• Supervise and assume responsibility for care provided by identified team members.  
• Performs modalities/therapeutic interventions in accordance with accepted standards of care and department policies and procedures.
• Participates/assists with updates in formal plan of care to address individual patient needs. Provides effective instruction to the patient and family through standardized educational programs and/or individualized training. 
• Initiate, develop, and maintain collaborative interactions with internal and external team members, patients, and family members to improve patient outcomes.  Productive and efficient in daily operations.
