What are the responsibilities and job description for the Certified Medical Assistant Coordinator position at Sentara?
The Certified Medical Assistant Coordinator collaborates with the Assistant Practice Manager and the Practice Manager to ensure the efficient and effective clinical operations of a practice. Assumes responsibility and accountability for daily clinical operations. Supports employees with solutions for everyday operational needs. Manage multiple projects and performs special work assignments as needed. Support Assistant Practice Manager, Practice Manager, Director and other leadership team members as needed. Collaborate with cross-departmental/divisional teams to achieve goals. Takes initiative and implements new processes independently. Acts as a role model for the clinical team and subject matter expert in clinical areas.
Education:
- High School Diploma
Certification:
Must have one of the following certifications:
- Registered Medical Assistant,
- Certified Medical Assistant,
- Clinical Certified Medical Assistant
- or Emergency Medical Technician Basic.
- BLS within 90 days of hired
- Medication Administration (certification/training) is preferred.
Experience:
- 2 years of Patient Care experience
- 1 year of Administrative and Medical Office experience
