Position Overview:
The RN Unit Coordinator provides clinical and administrative leadership for the Surgical Unit. This role ensures safe, high-quality patient care, fosters effective teamwork, and serves as a resource for staff, patients, and families.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate daily operations and patient flow within the Surgical Unit
- Serve as a clinical resource and mentor to nursing staff
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary teams to deliver excellent patient care
- Ensure adherence to hospital policies, regulatory standards, and evidence-based practices
- Support staff development through coaching, training, and performance feedback
- Assist with staffing, scheduling, and resource allocation to maintain efficiency
- Current, valid RN license in the state of Virginia
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) required
- Minimum of 2–3 years of recent acute care nursing experience, with surgical unit experience strongly preferred
- Prior leadership, charge nurse, or coordinator experience is a plus
- Strong communication, critical thinking, and organizational skills
