Sentara Williamsburg Regional Medical Center is hiring a Full-time Operational Pharmacy Specialist for our Inpatient Pharmacy in Williamsburg, VA.
Location: Sentara Williamsburg Regional Medical Center, Williamsburg, VA
Status: Full Time
Shift: Rotating (8 hours, 5 days)
Hours: 6:00 am - 11:00 pm*
Weekends: Approximately two Weekends every six weeks

Holiday Rotation
- Hours may vary to meet needs of the pharmacy, may be required to work within the hours of 6am-11pm and provide occasional weekend coverage as needed.
- Ensures the appropriateness of all provider medication orders in maintaining a high level of patient care and safety
- Participates in the training of new employees and the development of training materials
- Ensures quality assurance is maintained according to departmental and legal requirements
- Precepts pharmacy students and/or pharmacy residents as assigned in operational oversight of area of practice
- Leads the implementation of various system initiatives at both local and system levels Serves as a system expert and site lead in specialized pharmacy operations in area of practice (e.g., compounding, drug diversion, quality, and or safety)
- Resource for the staff on operational issues related to pharmacy practice
- Additional duties may be assigned as needed
- May be responsible for pharmacist-in-charge (PIC) duties when applicable
- Bachelor's Level Degree in Pharmacy (Required)
- Doctorate Level Degree in Pharmacy (Preferred)
- Virginia Pharmacist License (Required)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) (Required)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) (Preferred)
- Inpatient Hospital Pharmacist Experience (Preferred)
