Shift: Days
Weekly Scheduled Hours: 40
Education
The Nursing Professional Development (NPD) Specialist promotes professional development application of nursing clinical expertise in specified patient populations. Serves as an expert clinician, consistently serving as a clinical resource to staff. Recognized as a mentor; works to develop staff from beginner to expert status. Critically analyzes care delivered in identified service area against evidence based practice standards and seeks ways to improve outcomes. Accountable for defined aspects of staff development, continuing education and professional development of nursing staff. Leads, facilitates, and/or participates in interprofessional quality initiatives, implementing evidence-based nursing practices, shared decision making, and other educational plans and activities. A valid RN license in the state(s) of practice required. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required for Intermediate and Critical Care Units.
