Job Summary
Responsible for complete, compliant, and timely daily charge capture of ED departmental chargeable medication administration, bedside services and other lines of service as assigned. This position is responsible for ensuring all appropriate billing charges are being captured, documented, charged and reimbursed for the assigned department. As necessary, queries and/or submits request to the physician for additional information or clarification of procedures. Assures charging practices fall within established compliance guidelines. Performs other related duties as requested by HIM management. This role requires an understanding of medical terminology, CPT/HCPCS guidelines and Medicare regulatory guidelines.
Associates degree preferred. One or more years' experience in Charge Description Master, Hospital Billing, Charge Capture or Outpatient Coding preferred. CPC/COC/CCA/CCS certification required within 1 year of hire.

HS - High School Grad or Equivalent (Required)
