Sentara is hiring a Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist at Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital
Certification Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES) or Certification Board for Diabetes Care and Education (CBDCE) REQUIRED to be considered.
Shift:
FT Days (40hrs)
Job Overview:
The Diabetes Care and Education Specialist - RN serves as an expert clinical resource for clinical staff and healthcare providers in the inpatient and outpatient settings to include support groups. The Diabetes Care and Education Specialist - RN plans and coordinates care and education for patients with diabetes across a continuum in collaboration with other disciplines, community agencies and organizations subsidiaries. The Diabetes Care and Education Specialist - RN provides patient, family, and staff education to promote wellness and prevention of complications associated with diabetes to include how to monitor blood sugar levels, administer insulin, and implement lifestyle changes such as diet and exercise to improve overall health outcomes.

Experience:
- 2 years related experience REQUIRED in diabetes management, diabetes education and care
- Certification Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES) or Certification Board for Diabetes Care and Education (CBDCE) REQUIRED at time of hire.
- VA RN License in good standing.
- BSN REQUIRED
