Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, VA is hiring an experienced Clinical Laboratory Specialist work full time days with Transfusion Services.

Overview:

Assumes responsibility for specific laboratory technical disciplines within all Sentara entities. May function as lab manager for specialized clinical discipline. Analyzes patient data and suggests physician protocol for confirming patient diagnosis; acts as a consultant to pathologists, physicians, and other team members; identifies needs and implements training to ensure laboratory staff competency. Coordinates implementation of new laboratory services within all Sentara entities. Contributes to the organization's success by achieving system, hospital, and departmental goals and objectives.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree (required)

Certification/Licensure

• ASCP or AMT certification (required)

Experience:

• 3 years laboratory (required)

• Transfusion experience (required)
