Job Overview
We are seeking dedicated and compassionate Pediatric Physical Therapists to join our dynamic healthcare team. We have full time and part time positions available to take on cases at local preschool and/or facility for the upcoming 26-27 school year.
In this role, you will provide specialized physical therapy services to pediatric patients, helping children achieve optimal mobility, strength, and independence. Your expertise will support families and caregivers through personalized treatment plans, discharge planning, and ongoing patient care. Responsibilities
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to pediatric patients’ needs, including those with neurological, orthopedic, or developmental conditions.
- Conduct thorough assessments of patients’ physiology, anatomy, and functional abilities to inform therapy strategies.
- Collaborate closely with healthcare professionals such as physicians, occupational therapists, speech therapists, and social workers to coordinate comprehensive care.
- Manage clinical documentation standards accurately within electronic health records (EHR) systems and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Provide patient care across various settings including outpatient clinics and/or school settings.
- Educate patients and their families on therapy exercises, mobility techniques, and home care routines to promote recovery and independence.
- Assist with discharge planning by evaluating progress and recommending ongoing therapy or community resources for continued support.
Requirements
- Valid license or certification as a Pediatric Physical Therapist in NY
- Proven experience practicing in a physical therapy role with pediatric populations
- Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and physiotherapy techniques
- Demonstrated ability to develop effective treatment plans and adapt interventions based on patient progress.
- Experience working in outpatient clinics and/or school based settings.
- Familiarity with clinical documentation standards and electronic health records (EHR) or electronic medical records (EMR) systems for accurate patient documentation.
- Excellent client communication skills to effectively educate patients and collaborate with healthcare teams on care plans.
