Overview

Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Pediatric Occupational Therapist, where you will play a vital role in enhancing the lives of children with diverse developmental needs. We currently have full time and part time positions available to take on cases in local preschools, elementary schools and/or cases at our facility.

In this engaging position, you will assess, develop, and implement individualized treatment plans that promote functional independence and support children’s growth across various settings. Your expertise will help children overcome challenges related to neurodevelopmental disorders, disabilities, and other health conditions, fostering their ability to participate fully in daily activities and school environments. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference while working within a collaborative and supportive clinical team.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy assessments to evaluate children’s motor skills, sensory processing, and functional abilities.
  • Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans tailored to each child's unique needs, including interventions for autism spectrum disorders support, physical rehabilitation, and early intervention programs.
  • Assist children with activities of daily living (ADLs), such as dressing, grooming, feeding, and toileting, to promote independence.
  • Collaborate with families, caregivers, educators, speech therapists, and other healthcare professionals through clinical interprofessional collaboration to optimize care outcomes.
  • Manage medical documentation accurately within electronic health records (EHR), including progress notes, care plans, and discharge summaries.
  • Support discharge planning by preparing families for transition from therapy services to home or school settings.
  • Provide client communication that clearly explains therapy goals, progress updates, and home program recommendations to caregivers and educators.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program; current licensure or certification required.
  • Proven experience working with pediatric populations in outpatient clinics, schools, inpatient settings, or home health environments.
  • Strong knowledge of pediatric occupational therapy assessments and treatment plan development tailored for children with disabilities or neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism spectrum disorder.
  • Experience working with students with special education needs and implementing occupational therapy programs in school settings.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology and clinical documentation standards related to pediatric care.
  • Ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams including speech therapists and physical therapists.
  • Demonstrated commitment to evidence-based practice and ongoing professional development in pediatric occupational therapy.
