Sensible Shoe, located in Rutland is seeking a full or part time Sales Associate. We are a 4th generation family owned and operated sit and fit footwear store.
We were recently voted second best shoe store in Vermont by Best of American Towns, awarded the Gold Metal Service award by Footwear Insight, a high profile national footwear and fashion magazine, for outstanding customer service and also a multiple consecutive winner of Best Local Shoe Store, voted by Rutland Herald readers.
We offer full benefits, paid vacation and sick time for full time employees, yearly free shoe allowance and family discounts for full and part time employees. Starting pay is based on experience, we offer yearly raises and bonuses, we do not work on commission. We are closed every Monday.

Responsibilities:
- Greet and direct customers
- Provide accurate information (e.g. product features, pricing and after-sales services)
- Answer customers’ questions about specific products/services
- Conduct price and feature comparisons to facilitate purchasing
- Cross-sell products
- Manage returns of merchandise
- Coordinate with the Retail Sales Representatives team to provide excellent customer service (especially during peak times)
- Inform customers about discounts and special offers
- Provide customer feedback to the Store Manager
- Stay up-to-date with new products/services
Skills
- Proven work experience as a Retail Sales Representative, Sales Associate or similar role
- Understanding of the retail sales process
- Familiarity with consumer behavior principles
- Knowledge of inventory stocking procedures
- Basic math skills
- Reliable transportation
- Clean and professional appearance
- Excellent communication skills, capable of building trusting relationships
- Ability to perform in fast-paced environments
- Flexibility to work various shifts
- High school degree
