SensForge is a dynamic and growing company specializing in smart camera technology. We are seeking a Product Test Engineer (Product Quality & Technical Customer Support) who is detail-oriented, patient, and technically strong, with hands-on experience testing and supporting consumer electronics—particularly smart home security cameras.
In this hybrid role, you will be responsible for ensuring product quality through systematic testing and providing technical customer support to all users, including both beta users and customers using released products. You will act as a critical bridge between customers, engineering, and product teams, helping ensure our products are reliable, scalable, and deliver an excellent user experience. This role requires balancing structured product testing with real-time technical customer support, especially during product launches, updates, and high-traffic periods.
Key Responsibilities
Product Testing & Quality Assurance
- Set up test environments and perform functional, performance, and reliability testing on smart home camera products, including hardware, firmware, mobile apps, and cloud services.
- Execute test plans, document test results, and track defects throughout the product lifecycle.
- Use testing tools and methodologies to identify, reproduce, document, and validate issues and fixes.
- Collaborate closely with engineering and product teams to resolve issues and improve product stability and performance.
- Ensure all testing activities align with internal quality standards and relevant industry best practices.
Technical Customer Support
- Provide technical support to users by diagnosing and resolving issues related to devices, firmware, mobile apps, networking, and cloud services.
- Reproduce customer-reported issues in controlled test environments and translate findings into clear, actionable reports for engineering teams.
- Communicate effectively with customers to guide troubleshooting, explain root causes, and recommend solutions in a clear and professional manner.
- Identify recurring or high-impact customer issues and proactively escalate them to product and engineering teams with supporting data and analysis.
- Contribute to customer-facing and internal documentation, including FAQs, troubleshooting guides, and known-issue reports.
Test Assets & Logistics
- Manage test and support devices, including inventory tracking, shipment to customers or internal teams, and coordination with warehouse operations.
- Support logistics related to test units, replacements, and validation devices used for testing and customer support.
Required Skills
- Experience with testing and debugging tools such as Apifox, Postman, JMeter, ZenTao, or similar tools for API and system testing.
- Working knowledge of Python or Linux shell scripting, with the ability to analyze logs, modify scripts when needed, and manage test or support environments.
- Hands-on experience testing or supporting smart home cameras or similar consumer electronics products.
- Familiarity with backend services, mobile applications, and web platforms, with the ability to troubleshoot issues across the full stack.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
- A customer-focused mindset with patience and the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical users.
- Fluency in both English and Chinese.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
