ROLE PURPOSE
The Material Handler supports the continuous flow of materials throughout Sensaria's warehouse and production operations. Working with limited supervision, completes accurate inventory transactions; operates powered industrial equipment; and resolves routine material discrepancies to ensure production has the correct materials at the required location and time.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Label, scan, store, and rotate materials in assigned warehouse locations following inventory, quality, and material-handling procedures.
- Move finished goods and returned or excess materials to the correct location and complete all required system transactions.
- Accurately record receipts, transfers, issues, returns, and location changes in SAP or other approved inventory systems using computers and handheld scanners.
- Perform cycle counts, location audits, and inventory checks; research and promptly report shortages, overages, damage, labeling errors, and other discrepancies.
- Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material-handling equipment after completing required training and authorization.
- Complete pre-use equipment inspections and immediately report unsafe conditions, damage, incidents, and equipment concerns.
- Maintain clear aisles and organized storage areas while following 5S, housekeeping, safety, quality, and inventory-control standards.
- Coordinate with Production, Shipping, Purchasing, Quality, and warehouse leadership to respond to changing material needs and prevent production delays.
- Follow all company policies, work instructions, safety rules, and applicable OSHA requirements.
- Communicate material shortages, inventory discrepancies, damaged goods, and workflow issues to the Warehouse Lead or Supervisor.
- Participate in continuous-improvement activities and recommend practical improvements to material flow, safety, organization, and inventory accuracy.
- Work cooperatively across departments and perform other related duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 1–2 years of experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, or distribution environment; inventory or logistics experience strongly preferred.
- Hands-on experience with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, NetSuite, Epicor, or similar) preferred.
- Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, basic formulas) required.
- Valid forklift certification, or ability to obtain certification within 30 days of hire
