Position Summary
As a member of the leadership team, the Director of Manufacturing will lead our operations across multiple manufacturing plants and drive improvements in safety, quality, productivity, and efficiency. This role will oversee production teams, develop manufacturing strategies, and ensure operational goals align with the company’s overall objectives.
The Director of Manufacturing will be a hands-on leader who can build strong teams, improve processes, and maintain accountability in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Primary Responsibilities
- Lead daily manufacturing operations across production departments
- Develop and implement strategies to improve safety, quality, productivity, and cost performance
- Coach and develop managers, supervisors, and production teams
- Establish performance goals and hold teams accountable for results
- Evaluate production capacity, staffing, equipment, and workflow needs
- Identify and implement process improvements to reduce downtime, waste, and operating costs
- Partner with maintenance, quality, supply chain, engineering, and other departments to meet production goals
- Ensure compliance with company policies and all applicable safety and regulatory requirements
- Monitor key performance indicators and provide operational updates to the leadership team
- Support capital projects, equipment upgrades, and long-term manufacturing growth initiatives
Skills and Requirements
- Minimum of 7–10 years of manufacturing leadership experience
- Experience overseeing managers, supervisors, and large production teams
- Strong understanding of production planning, lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, and performance management
- Proven ability to improve operational results and lead organizational change
- Excellent leadership, communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Ability to balance long-term strategy with hands-on operational leadership
- Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, engineering, operations management, business, or a related field preferred
- Excellent communication, writing, and presentation skills
