Overview
The Warehouse Lead supports daily warehouse operations by coordinating team activities, optimizing workflow, and maintaining high standards for safety, accuracy, and productivity. This role serves as a key point of contact between warehouse associates and leadership, providing hands-on guidance, training, and problem-solving to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
Lead daily warehouse activities including receiving, picking, packing, shipping, and inventory control.
Assign tasks, monitor progress, and adjust workflow to meet operational goals.
Support the Warehouse Supervisor with labor planning, workload prioritization, and performance monitoring.
Identify workflow bottlenecks and collaborate with leadership on process improvements.
Training & Team Development
Train new and existing team members on warehouse processes, equipment use, and safety procedures.
Provide coaching, feedback, and support to help team members grow and succeed.
Assist with cross-training initiatives to develop a flexible and capable workforce.
Assist with loading and unloading trucks as needed.
Quality & Accuracy
Ensure all orders are completed accurately and meet company standards.
Monitor inventory levels, perform cycle counts, and resolve discrepancies.
Maintain high standards for organization, cleanliness, and 5S practices.
Warehouse & Workflow
Coordinate material flow between departments including warehouse, production, and quality control.
Maintain organized storage areas and clearly labeled inventory locations.
Monitor stock levels and coordinate replenishment when needed.
Serve as a backup for logistics coordination when required.
Safety & Compliance
Model and enforce all safety policies, procedures, and OSHA requirements.
Conduct safety inspections of equipment and work areas.
Report incidents, near misses, and equipment concerns promptly.
Communication & Coordination
Serve as the first point of escalation for warehouse associates.
Collaborate with logistics, purchasing, production, and customer service teams.
Provide leadership with updates on workflow progress, operational challenges, and improvement opportunities.

Requirements
- Strong understanding of warehouse operations, inventory systems, and material handling equipment.
- Previous warehouse leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
- Forklift certification required.
- Experience with WMS systems and basic computer applications (Excel, email, scanning systems).
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
