Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Observes resident physical, mental, and emotional status and reports any changes.

Reads and follows service plans, attends meetings, and reviews daily reports in the interest of resident care.

Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living, such as bathing, personal hygiene, dressing, walking, transferring, and turning.

Applies minor first-aid measures such as compresses, ice, and heat as directed by a nurse.

Assists with meal service, prepares or examines food trays for prescribed diet, feeds residents, and records food intake when required.

Responds to resident inquiries and directs to the appropriate person as needed.

Responds promptly and appropriately to emergency situations.

Assists with Life Enrichment activities as needed.

Provides routine updates to other Wellness team members and completes required recordkeeping tasks.

May assist with housekeeping duties, including removing garbage, making beds, cleaning apartments, and washing, drying, and putting away laundry.

May obtain and record resident vital signs and weight.

May collect samples from residents for testing, such as sputum, urine, stool, and/or blood.

Practice basic infection control with linens, hand washing, and in all other aspects of delivery of resident care.

Attend mandatory meetings as scheduled by Executive Director.

Maintain confidentiality of resident, community, employee, and company information.

Maintain working knowledge of fire and disaster plans and responsibilities under emergency conditions.

Perform other duties as assigned.
