Maravilla's Culinary Department is a high energy, high production department serving almost 1,500 meals to our residents daily.

Job Description

• Prepare and cook daily lunch and dinner specials.
• Perform daily food inventories and set preparation quantities.
• Prepare meals for residents providing high quality dining service that takes into account resident preferences and special dietary requirements in compliance with applicable food and sanitation regulations.
• Assist in the production of all menu items.
• Demonstrate safe food handling procedures, with special emphasis on critical control.
• Maintain consistently high cleanliness of work and storage areas.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years of cooking experience in breakfast and lunch.
• Perform daily food inventory and set preparation quantities.
• Experience in production cooking and/or preparing therapeutic diets is preferred.
• You need to be able to communicate clearly and effectively in English.
• Must have prior experience working with a Point of Sale ordering system.
• You have and/or are willing to obtain the necessary food handling and sanitation licenses
• You possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
• You have the ability to solve practical problems and deal with variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
• You can maintain a positive and friendly demeanor toward the residents and your co-workers.
