Congregate Site Operator
Location: Dayton, OH, 45406
Senior Resource Connection is seeking dependable and compassionate part-time Congregate Site Operators to manage the daily operations of our senior dining site. In this leadership role, you'll ensure older adults in the community receive nutritious meals in a welcoming, safe, and well-run environment. Hours are M-F, mornings. Hourly wage is $12.10.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Supervises the personnel, including volunteers, assigned to the work site.
- Plans and assigns work priorities for assigned staff.
- Provides orientation and training to new employees and volunteers.
- Assists in recruiting volunteers to assist with kitchen operations.
- Coordinates kitchen operations to ensure efficient food service delivery.
- Assures that all appliances are turned on and ready for use.
- Orders food supplies necessary to ensure efficient operations of site.
- Maintains the serving temperature of prepared food to ensure that the hot food stays hot, and the cold food stays cold.
- Assists with the set-up of site facilities, including tables.
- Coordinates clean-up of work site at the end of each day.
- Assures that all food service is performed according to accepted standards of sanitation and safety.
- Responsible for cleanup and sanitation of serving areas prior to meal service and after meals have been served.
- Prepares daily paperwork for nutrition site.
- Maintains timecards of paid staff and volunteers as required.
- Maintains paperwork on all supplies ordered and received.
- If required, make daily bank deposits.
- Records amount of money collected at work site on daily basis.
- Prepares special reports pertaining to work site demographics when necessary.
- Ensures that registration forms are completed and sent to Nutrition Office.
- Serves as substitute at other sites, as needed and as directed by supervisor.
- Attend monthly Site Operator meetings.
- Performs other related duties as required for the effective operation of the nutrition site.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of food service operations, procedures and equipment; sanitation and safety standards; supervisory techniques.
- Ability to develop effective working relationships with staff, volunteers and senior citizens; organize and maintain accurate records; communicate effectively in both oral and written form; coordinate food service operations, including planning work priorities of subordinates.
- Skill in planning, organizing decorating environment for a pleasing dining experience.
Qualifications:
- Completion of a standard high school course of a study or equivalent.
- Previous supervisory experience preferred.
- Must pass a criminal background check and maintain a clear record.
