Nature & scope
Working in conjunction with the Regional or Divisional VP of Operations, supporting the company in its efforts to achieve community, regional and company business goals in accordance with residents’ needs, government regulations, policies and procedures. The Regional Director of Operations will focus on providing hands-on support, guidance and direction on operations standards for cost control, clinical quality and safety controls while maintaining excellent service quality and high occupancy. RDO’s will be responsible for training, mentoring and supporting all executive directors within their region.
Minimum eligibility requirements
- Bachelor degree in Healthcare Administration, Nursing, Gerontology or related field preferred.
- Experience of 5-10 years in a healthcare setting. Multi-site experience preferred.
- Must be a licensed assisted living or nursing home administrator in the states under supervision or eligibility to be licensed within 6 months of hire.
- Must be able to communicate effectively with residents, families, staff, community officials, State hospitals and general public.
- Must have compassion for and desire to work with the elderly.
- Must demonstrate the ability to work responsibly as a team member as well as an individual.
- Must be honest, fair, dependable, respect confidentiality and the rights and privacy of others.
- Practice and promote Policies and Procedures, Mission Statement, Core Values and Founding Principles.
- Must be computer literate.
- Experience with financial reporting and managing multiple budgets.
- Must pass criminal background check.

Essential functions
Regional Director of Operations:
- Lead and develop the field operations leadership team. Coach and mentor community Executive Directors and key operations leaders. Identify development needs and create plans to elevate leadership abilities.
- Oversee the creation and execution of operations strategic plans for the region. Ensure community operations plans align with organization-wide strategic priorities.
- Lead continuous operations process improvement initiatives to drive operational excellence, resident satisfaction, employee engagement, financial health.
- Act as the key liaison between community operations teams and corporate support teams (clinical, sales, marketing, HR, etc.) to ensure seamless communication and remove barriers.
- Develop and utilize regional dashboards, KPIs, and metrics to measure operational performance. Analyze data and trends to identify problems early and collaborate on solutions.
- Ensure consistent operations procedures and systems across the region. Develop training programs to effectively communicate policies, protocols to community operations teams.
- Champion the organization's operational best practices, core values, and service culture within the region's leadership team and broader operations workforce.
- Proactively communicate key organizational announcements, strategy changes, leadership updates to motivate and align regional operations teams to corporate vision and priorities.
- Lead regional operations town halls, workshops, and leadership offsites to facilitate collaboration, transparency, communication, and alignment across the region's operations teams.
- Oversee regional budgeting, forecasting, and financial performance to corporate goals and business plan commitments.
- Oversee the development and execution of clinical operations strategic plans in collaboration with company clinical professionals. Ensure alignment with organization-wide clinical priorities and regulatory requirements.
Quality Assurance
- Conduct routine inspections of services being provided to ensure organization and regional expectations are met.
- Cleanliness and routine maintenance of the Community and grounds.
- Safety of residents, their visitors and staff regarding Infection Control, Fire, and Safety policies and procedures.
Compliance
- Maintain current knowledge of State Regulations and ensure compliance in all surveys conducted by all licensing authorities.
- Ensure compliance with organizational QA and Safety documentation requirements and protocols.
Community Staffing and Retention
- Recruitment, training and development of community leadership.
- Ensure training and incentive programs are in place and enhanced.
- Monitor employee morale, maintaining high level of team spirit and unit cohesion. Ensure compliance with employment laws and company policies. Manage turnover. Maintain network of recruitment sources.
Community Relations
- Develop positive relationships with State regulators, the community at large, families and residents on behalf of the communities.
Residents’ rights
- Ensure compliance and understanding of all regulations regarding residents’ rights.
Other
- Follow and communicate company policies and procedures.
