Position Summary
We are seeking a licensed Staff Pharmacist to join our daytime operations team. This role is ideal for a pharmacist who enjoys a collaborative environment and wants to focus on patient safety, prescription verification, and clinical support rather than retail sales. As a Staff Pharmacist, you will play a key role in ensuring prescriptions are filled accurately, safely, and efficiently while supporting our pharmacy technicians and patient care team.
Key Responsibilities
- Verify prescriptions for accuracy, safety, and clinical appropriateness.
- Review patient medication profiles for drug interactions, allergies, duplicate therapies, and contraindications.
- Counsel patients by phone when appropriate and answer medication-related questions.
- Supervise and support pharmacy technicians to ensure workflow efficiency and regulatory compliance.
- Resolve prescription clarification issues with prescribers and healthcare providers.
- Ensure compliance with all state and federal pharmacy laws and regulations.
- Maintain accurate documentation and quality assurance standards.
- Participate in workflow improvement initiatives and operational projects.
- Collaborate with pharmacists, technicians, and enrollment specialists to provide exceptional patient care.
Qualifications
- Active Pharmacist license in the state of employment (additional state licenses are a plus).
- Graduate of an accredited College of Pharmacy (PharmD or BS Pharmacy).
- Strong clinical knowledge and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Proficiency with pharmacy management software and electronic prescription systems preferred.
- Previous mail-order, long-term care, specialty, or closed-door pharmacy experience is preferred but not required.
