Position Title: Line / Prep Cook
Location: Solvang Retirement Community
Schedule: 5 days per week | 5–8 hours per day (depending on need)
Compensation: $18–$20 per hour, based on experience
About the Role
Solvang Retirement is seeking a dependable and enthusiastic Line/Prep Cook to join our kitchen team. This position plays an essential role in preparing and serving high-quality meals to our residents in a warm, community-centered environment.
Key Responsibilities

Prepare ingredients and assist in meal prep for daily service and special events

Cook to order and serve meals during meal service times

Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen and prep areas

Follow food safety and sanitation standards at all times

Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to ensure timely and high-quality meal delivery

Support the Chef and Dietary Manager with menu execution and portion control
Qualifications

2 years prior experience in line cooking, short order cooking, or large-quantity meal prep preferred

Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment

Strong attention to detail and commitment to food safety

Team-oriented attitude and reliability a must

Must be able to stand for long periods and lift up to 40 pounds
Training
Experience is preferred, but we are willing to train the right person who has a positive attitude, a strong work ethic, and a passion for serving others.
