Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough patient assessments including vital signs, physical examinations, and detailed medical histories to inform individualized care plans.
  • Administer medications and injections accurately following prescribed protocols while maintaining strict aseptic techniques and documentation standards.
  • Manage complex clinical procedures such as IV infusions, catheterizations, wound suturing, tube feeding, and ventilator management with precision and confidence.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care across specialties including cardiology, ophthalmology, trauma medicine, geriatrics, behavioral health, and infectious disease care.
  • Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic or Cerner to document patient information accurately and efficiently while adhering to HIPAA regulations.
  • Provide patient education on treatment plans, medication administration, pain management strategies, and health coaching to empower individuals in their recovery journey.
  • Support triage processes in urgent care or emergency room settings by prioritizing patient needs based on acuity levels and facilitating timely interventions.
  • Assist with diagnostic evaluations such as laboratory specimen collection/processing, ICD coding (ICD-9/10), and interpreting physiological data for comprehensive patient assessment.
  • Participate in discharge planning and case management activities to ensure smooth transitions from hospital to home or long-term care facilities.
  • Maintain infection control standards through proper sterilization procedures and adherence to CDC guidelines during all clinical activities.

Experience

  • Valid RN license with current registration; additional certifications such as Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) preferred.
  • Proven experience in acute care environments including ICU (Intensive Care Unit), emergency medicine, Level I or Level II trauma centers, or critical care transport settings.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner for medical documentation and coding practices.
  • Hands-on experience with specialized procedures like catheterization (cardiac or urinary), dialysis support, ostomy care, or gastrostomy tube management is highly desirable.
  • Background working with diverse populations including pediatrics, geriatrics, individuals with disabilities or developmental disabilities, dementia or Alzheimer’s care is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with infection control protocols, laboratory testing procedures including phlebotomy and specimen processing, and use of diagnostic imaging tools like sonography or mammography enhances your candidacy.
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy & physiology principles, CPT coding standards for billing purposes, and HIPAA compliance is essential for success in this role. Pay: $43.66 - $52.58 per hour
