Shovel/Snowblow for Seniors 60+ / Non-Profit serving Hennepin County Homeowner

Position: Snow Shoveling/Snow Blowing for Seniors 60 residential properties only - Part Time, Independent Contractor positions (individuals)

Organization: Senior Community Services (SCS) / Nonprofit

Our nonprofit organization is hiring reliable and compassionate independent contractors to provide snow removal for our program participants. All participants are aged 60 and reside in Hennepin county.

Work for seniors in your area to help them stay safe and independent this winter! Great for older students, the recently retired, and anyone wanting to help their community and make some extra cash. We will do our best to match you with seniors close to your home and/or within your preferred geographic areas.

Requirements:

• 18 or older
• Have a valid drivers license
• Able to consent to and pass a criminal background check
• Must have reliable transportation
• Able to supply and transport your own portable snow blower and/or heavy duty shovel (snow blower preferred, but not required)
• Able to physically do the work (lift 20 pounds, bend, stretch, etc.)
• Willing to commit to the entire season, from the first snowfall to last.

Expectations:

• Snow removal at assigned residential properties within approximately 24 hours at the end of 2 inch snowfalls. Some clients may request snow removal at under 2" depending on property details (ramp, snow emergency, etc.)
• Spread salt/sand and clear ice as needed (salt/sand provided by clients).
• Ability to be calm, patient, and compassionate in working with older adults and their caregivers.

Pay: $22/hour

Schedule: Part time, flexible within 24 hour removal window. You will work directly with your clients to determine schedule. Hours are not guaranteed given the variability of snowfall events during the season.

Location: All client properties are located within Hennepin County. We will do our best to match you with seniors within your preferred geographic areas.

AT THE END OF THE SNOW SEASON, IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN CONTINUING WITH SCS TO PROVIDE MOWING/LAWNCARE SERVICES FOR OUR CLIENTS, YOU WOULD NOT NEED TO REAPPLY!

• All contractors must have their own transportation (required) and the ability to supply and transport their own heavy duty shovel (required) and portable snow blower (a plus, but not a requirement). Please confirm all with details.
• At the end of the snow season, are you interested in continuing with Senior Community Services to provide mowing/lawncare for our clients? If so, you would need to supply and transport your own lawn mower and weed whacker. If interested, please confirm and provide details.
