Position Summary
Assist in the implementation of various Senior Affairs programs; provide assistance and information to senior citizens; provide transportation services for frail, elderly or restricted seniors; perform record keeping, cash handling, and receptionist duties for Senior Affairs programs and perform related tasks relative to assigned area of responsibility.

Essential and Supplemental Functions
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Essential functions may include but are not limited to the functions listed below. Mustbe able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
- Assist in implementing various senior activities within senior programs; assist in the recruitment and placement of program volunteers.
- Provide assistance and information for senior citizens regarding programs, resources and health benefits available; answer questions seniors may have regarding programs.
- Provide seniors with transportation to medical appointments and grocery stores; transport seniors safely and use most efficient routes.
- Perform receptionist duties; answer telephones, relay messages and provide information regarding senior programs.
- Provide cash handling services; operate cash register and collect money for senior activities and trips.
- Perform record keeping duties; input data into computer, maintain membership and participant records and files, operate photo copier and fax machine.
- Assist with planning and coordinating senior trips; take reservations and accompany participants on trips.
- Coordinate and plan meal site activities; order food and supplies, set up lunchroom and drive van as needed.
- Post program flyers and marketing materials on bulletin boards as needed.
- Perform related duties and responsibilities as required.
Minimum Education, Experience And Additional Requirements
Education directly related to the minimum requirements below may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
High school diploma or GED; and
One (1) year of senior services or customer service experience.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Possession of a valid New Mexico Driver's License, or the ability to obtain by date of hire.
Possession of a valid City Operator's Permit (COP) within six (6) months from date of hire.
Working Conditions
Environmental:
Office and field environment; travel from site to site; exposure to computer screens, vehicles, noise, inclement weather conditions; work closely with others.
Physical:
Essential and supplemental functions may require maintaining physical condition necessary for walking, standing or sitting for prolonged periods; moderate or light lifting and carrying; operating motorized equipment and vehicles.
