Role Description This full-time Medicare Advisor/Broker role is a hybrid position based in the New York City Metropolitan Area, with flexibility for some work from home. The advisor will guide Medicare beneficiaries through plan options, including Medicare Advantage and Medicare Supplement plans, explaining benefits, costs, and enrollment requirements in clear, accessible language. Daily responsibilities include conducting consultations by phone, video, and in person, assessing client needs, and recommending suitable plan options aligned with regulatory standards. The role also involves handling applications and enrollments, maintaining accurate documentation, staying current on Medicare regulations and carrier offerings, and following up with clients to ensure ongoing satisfaction. The advisor will collaborate with internal teams and carriers, uphold compliance and ethical standards, and contribute to outreach efforts, such as educational sessions and community events.
Qualifications
- Strong client advisory skills, including active listening, clear communication, and the ability to explain complex Medicare information in a straightforward manner.
- Proficiency in sales and relationship-building, with experience recommending insurance or financial products based on client needs and preferences.
- Attention to detail and organizational skills for managing multiple client files, tracking deadlines, and ensuring accurate documentation and compliance.
- Comfort with technology, including CRM systems, virtual meeting tools, and standard office software for remote and in-office work.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a hybrid environment, managing time effectively and prioritizing tasks.
- Current state health insurance license or willingness and eligibility to obtain one within a defined timeframe.
- Knowledge of Medicare Advantage, Medicare Supplement, and related products is strongly preferred; prior experience in health insurance or senior services is a plus.
