Montco SAAC is seeking a Environmental Services & Maintenance Technician to join our team at the Norristown Senior Community Center. This a full-time benefited position that is ideal for someone who takes pride in ensuring that facilities are clean, safe, and well-maintained. You’ll be responsible for both janitorial duties and light maintenance tasks. We are committed to providing a welcoming and inclusive environment for seniors, and this role is essential to keeping our center running smoothly.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform general cleaning and upkeep duties, including:
- Cleaning and sanitizing restrooms, hallways, staircases, and common areas.
- Trash removal and sanitation procedures.
- Floor care, including mopping, waxing, and buffing.
- Lawn mowing and trimming.
- Perform basic maintenance and repairs, including:
- Addressing small repairs.
- Conduct routine inspections of the facility and equipment.
- Assist with building maintenance.
- Help ensure preventative maintenance and repairs are scheduled and completed.
- Communicate with the Site Manager about necessary repairs.
- Occasionally procure materials from local vendors as needed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- At least one year of maintenance experience.
- Basic knowledge of janitorial practices and building maintenance.
- Ability to handle tools and light equipment (ladders, vacuums, buffers, etc.).
- Strong communication skills and ability to work well with coworkers and senior center members.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, sit, bend, and lift objects up to 75 pounds.
- Comfortable working in different environments, including outdoors and non-ventilated areas.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable personal vehicle.
